Hey Salesloft Community,

Savannah Warbington here, Customer Success Architect here at Salesloft! 👋🏼

Are you looking to make your Salesloft even smarter and more proactive? Third-Party Integration Plays are your secret weapon!

These powerful Plays allow you to trigger actions in Salesloft based on signals from other tools in your tech stack, creating a seamless and highly efficient sales workflow.

What are Third-Party Integration Plays? Essentially, these Plays use data from your external applications (like intent platforms, e-signature tools, or even your CRM) to automatically create tasks or actions within Salesloft. This means your reps get real-time, relevant prompts to engage with prospects and customers at precisely the right moment.

How to Enable Them (for Salesloft Admins):

  1. Ensure the Third-Party App is Integrated: Before you can create a Play, the specific third-party application needs to be integrated and authorized with Salesloft. This often involves connecting the two platforms via OAuth or API keys. (Check Salesloft's Marketplace or the specific app's documentation for detailed setup steps)
  2. Verify User Permissions: Make sure the relevant users (and you, as the admin) have the necessary permissions to manage and utilize integrations and Plays.
  3. Navigate to Play Settings: In Salesloft, go to Settings and then select Plays under the Workflow category.
    • Create a New Play (or Edit Existing): Click "+ Create Play" or select an existing Play to edit.
    • Choose a Signal: This is where the magic happens! For third-party integrations, your signal will come from the integrated application. Salesloft provides pre-built "Play Frameworks" for popular integrations (e.g., DocuSign, G2, Vidyard), and you can also create custom signals via iPaaS providers like Tray.io, Workato, or Zapier.
    • Define Criteria (if applicable): Refine when the Play should trigger based on specific data points from the third-party signal.
    • Assign Play Action: Select the Salesloft task that should be generated (e.g., Call Task, Email Task, Add to Cadence, Review Record).
    • Enable and Save: Once configured, enable the Play to make it active.

Common Use Cases for Third-Party Integration Plays:

  • Buyer Intent Signals:
    • Signal: A target account is spiking on ZoomInfo Intent.
    • Play Action: Add Contacts to a Cadence to orchestrate immediate action in Salesloft.
    • Benefit: Prioritize outreach to high-intent leads who are actively researching your solution.
  • Document Engagement:
    • Signal: A prospect signs a DocuSign agreement.
    • Play Action: Create a "Review Record Task" to prompt the AE to confirm the signed contract and initiate onboarding.
    • Benefit: Streamline post-sales processes and ensure timely next steps.
  • Content Consumption:
    • Signal: A prospect watches a certain % of your video on Vidyard.
    • Play Action: Create a “Call Task” to prompt the Sales Rep to reach out at the right time.
    • Benefit: Leverage content engagement to strike while the iron is hot.
  • Product Usage/Behavior:
    • Signal: A free trial user reaches a certain usage milestone in your product (via iPaaS integration).
    • Play Action: Create a "Call Task" for a Salesloft rep to offer assistance or discuss an upgrade.
    • Benefit: Proactively engage with users showing high engagement or those who might need support.

By leveraging Third-Party Integration Plays, you can automate mundane tasks, ensure timely and relevant outreach, and ultimately drive more efficient and effective sales motions.
