Introduction
Most Cadence emails don’t send on Saturdays and Sundays since many people are off on the weekends. But, some leads are active outside the typical work week—think inbound leads who fill out a form on a Saturday or contacts with non-standard schedules.
This guide shows how to set up automated email steps that reach those leads on Saturdays and Sundays.
Step 1: Create an Automation Rule for Inbound Leads
To get started, you’ll want to create an Automation Rule to add marketing qualified leads to an Inbound Cadence.
Follow these steps:
- Navigate to your settings.
- Select Automation Rules under the Data category.
- Click Create New Rule.
- Name your rule, ex. MQLs to Inbound Cadence
- Click the Trigger dropdown, then select Person Updates. Select When a lead is converted to a contact from the list that appears.
- Click the Action dropdown, then select Add to Cadence. Select the Cadence of your choice from the dropdown.
- Click the Enable rule after saving toggle.
- Hit Save.

Step 2: Set Up or Update Your Inbound Cadence
Once your Automation Rule is set up, you’re ready to set up your Cadence.
Follow these steps:
- Hover over the Content tab, then select Cadences.
- Click your preferred Cadence to open the Cadence Overview Page.
- Make the first step an automated email
- Things to Note: Only automated email steps scheduled on weekends will be sent on Saturdays or Sundays. You may need to create a new automated email step.
- Click the vertical ellipses on the automated email step panel. Then click Edit Step.
- Set the time delay to 0 minutes so it sends immediately.
- Check the Send Saturdays and Sundays box.
- Hit Save.
