Prospecting emails are a vital component of any sales strategy, serving as the initial touchpoint with potential customers. Crafting effective prospecting emails requires a blend of personalization, clear messaging, and strategic timing.
Here are our tips for sending prospecting emails:
-
Keep Your Subject Line Short & Number Free
A short subject line is crucial for prospecting emails as it quickly grabs attention amidst inbox clutter, conveys the email's purpose clearly, optimizes for mobile viewing, creates curiosity, and respects the recipient's time, increasing the chances of engagement and success.
We recommend 4 words or less!
-
Keep the Body Short
A concise message is more likely to be read thoroughly and understood, increasing the effectiveness of communication and enhancing the chances of a positive response. It also keeps the content mobile-friendly.
We recommend approximately 50 words or less!
-
Use Engaging Language
Using engaging language in your emails establishes a personal connection and grabs the recipient’s attention. Starting with "Hey" and using "I" at the beginning helps create a friendly and direct tone, while ending with "Best" adds a warm, professional sign-off that leaves a positive impression on the recipient. These techniques can make emails more memorable and foster better rapport with prospects.
-
Limit images and hyperlinks
Limiting images and hyperlinks in emails maintains focus on the essential content. By minimizing distractions, such as excessive visuals or links, you can ensure that the message remains clear and impactful.
This approach helps recipients stay engaged with the core information and increases the likelihood of achieving the desired response or action.
-
Leverage {{Dynamic Fields}}!
Dynamic fields are placeholders for variable information such as a prospect’s name or company.
When you add dynamic fields to a Cadence email step, the personalized information is automatically populated per Person or Account.
By using dynamic fields in your Cadence step emails, you can easily customize your emails on an individual basis, making the communication more relevant and engaging for each recipient.
Note: If your fields are syncing from your CRM, make sure that they are case-friendly before you send, i.e. not ALL CAPS.
