📣 Calling all Public Sector Sellers  📣

Does your organization have a team selling into PubSec? If so, how are you handling Call Recording best practices? Whether it’s calls made through the Dialer or recorded meetings with Zoom, Google Meet, etc. I want to hear from you in the comments!

  • Do you a have recording message announced at the start of call/meeting?
  • Are you asking to record calls/meetings prior to recording?
  • Are you auto recording all calls/meetings, unless specifically asked to not record by meeting attendee?
  • Do you keep your call recordings for a specific amount of time?

I have a customer ramping up their efforts to create a PubSec selling team, so I’d love to hear what’s worked well for your sellers, any best practices you’ve defined, and how you handle security and compliance concerns around recording.

If you’re open to an exploratory conversation with my customer to share your expertise here, I’m not afraid to send you some Salesloft swag in return 😁

Hi Rob --

We use Gong for call recording, coaching, and call analysis. We use the Gong prompt to inform all parties that the call is being recorded and we auto record each call.

We dont get much pushback from our clients. We sell to all levels of US government and the only team that doesnt use Gong by default is our federal selling team.

Thanks for the insight @AlyssaStarman! Are these outbound calls or recorded meetings that have been scheduled? I’d also be curious to know if you have any retention time frames for the calls you record? In other words, do they have to be deleted after a certain amount of time?

They are meetings that have been scheduled. we are not currently recording unscheduled outbound calls for sales. the bdr org uses salesloft to record their outbound calls. i am unsure of our exact retention rate but its about a year or so in gong, unsure of hte bdr teams retention rate in salesloft but i could ask
